This project transforms an existing shelled tenant suite into a corporate home office suite for an investment company, connecting the warmth and light of the space with the character of the business. Taking advantage of the double-height space, a mezzanine was hung from the existing concrete structure to create additional space for an employee lounge for connection and informal meetings. Where space was previously unoccupiable in the adjacent parking garage, an infill slab captures the area for an expanded office suite. The space is highlighted by a series of frames, which create a dialogue with the exposed concrete structure. Light is able to penetrate deeply into the office suite through the series of glazing at the offices, some ribbed for privacy. Clever deployment of these strategies create an office where people feel both inspired and at home.
